    What to watch tonight….

Was all set to watch the Montreal-Boston game, but then i heard for the 600th time that Sportsnet the Fan 590 Radio (just rings off the keyboard) was having their EPIC special CRISIS ON ICE tonight. This almost reminds me of a CNN special like when the forces first invaded IRAQ. I mean you have Gord Martineau and Darren Millard hosting it. You know it has to be a huge story with the legacy they bring to the table as it pertains to NHL Documentaries. How many different interviews with Nick Kypreos can they have? And last I have heard from Nick, the game is great, so what crisis?

  2. Sam In Scarbrough says:

@Gerry..What amazing is that Sportsnet is pre-emting darts or billiards for this “Crisis” special.

  3. Daniel says:

I know headshots are an important issue, but I’m not sure talking about it everyday is making for great radio/TV. I’m definitely not going to watch an hour long special on it, that’s for damn sure.

Gerry – great call comparing it to CNN.

The Canadian hockey media is really starting to remind me of American news style sensationalism.

With some of their ads, I think Sportsnet wants us to think that Kypreos, Maclean and Millard are action stars or something. Remember that ‘looking for a lifeline’ ad? I found it embarrassing to watch.

  4. Daniel says:

You’d honestly think these guys were covering the crisis in Japan or the uprising in Libya.

That’s part of why I listened to Hockeycentral with Brady, but I won’t with Millard or Kouleas on TSN. I find Brady doesn’t give sports a false sense of life and death importance that some of the other guys do.

The Puck-Heads at rogers/ sportsnet/the fan /no-frills/Starbucks are just looking for stuff to talk about.Trade deadline over (and we all know how accurate they were AFTER the fact) “oh I knew that player would be moved” Playoffs coming soon so we will then get Expert analysis before hand. Then after a team goes out in 4 games in the first round we will hear “Oh I could see that coming”
