Atlanta Hawks (27-15, 13-9 away) vs. Miami Heat (30-12, 15-4 home) @ AmericanAirlines Arena on Sportsnet, 7:30 PM ET
Line: MIA by 5.5
Reason to Watch: While the Miami Heat will be without PF Chris Bosh, this game features some serious talent on both sides. Other then Boston, you really can’t find a better line-up 1 to 4 then Atlanta. PG Mike Bibby is the East’s version of Jason Kidd. While Kidd is the better playmaker, Bibby is twice the shooter that Kidd is. SG Joe Johnson, despite signing a six year $124 million dollar contract (the biggest contract of the 2010 summer) remains as underrated as ever. Johnson is having another terrific season averaging 19.7 ppg, 5.4 apg and 4.1 rpg.
SF Josh Smith looks like he’s really maturing as well, especially on the court, Smith is averaging 16.1 ppg with 8.8 rpg and 1.9 blocks. Where Smith has really been impressive is in shot selection, the 25 year old is shooting 46% from the field and 38% from 3-pt range. Then there is the forth player in the Hawks lineup averaging in double figure scoring, PF Al Horford. The third year man out of Florida is setting himself up for a big payday averaging 16.2 ppg and 9.7 rpg and 1.2 blocks.
Atlanta will cause a lot of problems for the Heat tonight. The Hawks match-up well with Miami and if they play strong team defense tonight instead of trying to be the star on Sportscenter then can pull off the upset.
