Enjoyed all sports talk history today.

  2. I actually was okay with Cox as co-host today! :D

  3. And I loved hearing Bob’s stories w/ Freedge and Ted :D

I wonder if damien was in a good mood after being at wimbledon.

It was funny to hear him talk about mellowing on twitter. My understanding is that he used to.block peolpe at the drop of a hat.

When I lived in Montreal I used to listen to WFAN New York quite a bit at nights and on weekends because their signal was so strong……………that station definitely paved the way for other all sports radio stations in North America

When 1430 switched to all sports here in Toronto in 1992 I always thought it was rather lame that they took the name “FAN” from WFAN……………to this day I rarely refer to 590 as “The FAN” because of that

  6. Curt says:

To be fair, like Shannon, my biggest problem with Cox is on the roundtables – where he can be insufferable. On his own (and after a long break) with Bob, he’s not so bad. Give him a few days though…

  7. Nan Young Lee says:

Missing Jim Lang in the mornings. He is Toronto’s Chris Russo. Like the Mad Dog, an amiable everyman who is a great compliment to the funny, brilliant Brady. You can imagine Lang joining any show on 590 or TSN and seamlessly adding to it.

  8. Sea Bass says:

@ Nan Young Lee (or more than likely Jim Lang himself)

You’re joking right. Jim Lang is no better now than he was when he started however many months ago. In fact, he’s probably worse – more clueless and still no awareness of sports other than hockey (or anything to do with pop culture for that matter). He is on Mount Rushmore with Don Landry and Mike Toth as worst Toronto sports radio “personalities” (someone name me a 4th guy to add – The Roj?)

That’s an insult to Russo who helped pioneer sports talk radio. Read the article on Grantland, it’s excellent. WFAN has always been and continues to be so superior to the lowest common denominator offerings on Toronto sports radio – lets hear about the Coyotes again…how about that Hamilton stadium situation?
