Here is what Scott MacArthur said on 1050 about the NHL lockout:
“These two sides are literally on different planets”
Does anyone know what the word “literally” means anymore ????

  2. Sam says:

Bob Ryan needs a new phone, this is not the first week the connection’s been bad.

  3. Ben says:

RIP Toronto Sports Media….How about a blog post once and a while, wow…..

  4. Torontosportsmedia says:

Thanks for the note Ben. Sorry I’ve let you down

  5. Alex says:

Loved bob going thru tim and sids wallets (metaphorically withmthe latter). Seemed very old school Stern.

  6. Roger says:

    McCown’s interviews
with Smith and Ryan were just brutal. After 35 years in the business, he still
doesn’t know you have to indentify the person you’re speaking to – its radio for
    chrissakes!

    And yet he and some
posters here claim he’s a great interviewer.

  7. mike in boston says:

you raise a really good question: what makes for a great sports interview on the radio?

there are a range of styles on TSN and SN right now. maybe this could be a weekend blog, as well as a poll question.

  8. Mike S says:

Agreed…………..he is an interesting guy to have on every week but if they can’t make sure he is on a decent phone line I’m not sure it is worth having him as a guest

  9. Anthony says:

He’s right. You use to be my go to place for blogs and info, now…..it’s a shell of its former glory

  10. Daniel says:

    Agreed. That was hilarious.

  11. Capn2patch says:

Believe these problems to be related to the Skype line they’re trying out. The question should be, are the cost savings worth the blips in service.

  12. (Another) Andrew says:

He’s barely intelligible at the best of times.

  13. ticky13 says:

I hear him weekly on The Tony Kornheiser Show, and every week it sounds like he has pulled over inside a tunnel and is getting one bar of signal.

  14. Ami_Angelwings says:

I’ve noticed that when he talks with his friends (or people he is friendly with), he sometimes neglects to mention who they are, and very rarely will bring it up again during their conversation.
