Watters Gone From Sportsnet

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing any more classic confrontations between these two guys on Sportsnet in the future.

Bill Watters announced today on The Bill Waters Show (AM640) that he is no longer employed by Sportsnet.

If more details come out….TSM will update accordingly.

enjoy retirement from being a full time radio host Bill. I think we can all agree you had a great run in your “second career” with the Leafs. Please consider appearing on TSM’s Pressbox.

That’s fine by me, I wasn’t a fan of his work to begin with, although I don’t like people losing their jobs. Gotta wonder if this has anything to do with the changes over at 590 as well..

Wow. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that this comes right after the rebranding of The Fan.

I wonder if Rogers said – pick one: Hockeycentral or your show on 640.

This is definitely related to the “Sportsnet Radio FAN 590″ situation…………on his radio show today Wilbur basically said that he was told he can no longer be on Sportsnet because he works for 640

Wilbur has a face for radio anyway. He was beginning to ramble on like a old dotering fool. His best years are way behind him.

Maybe they’ll give Greg Brady a shot at Sporsnet. Hopefully Richie Rich doesn’t get anymore air time because of this.
