As predicted, the former players condemned Branch and defended the 'code' shared by the players and the jock spoke of 'how that's the way the game is played within the rulebook' bullshit. This just set up McKenzie to once again prove that he is the brightest and most partisan hockey mind out there. Someone will have to die during an NHL game for these clowns to finally act. I remember watching the teams of the mid/late '70s do this - it was fun to watch....the "kid lines" came up and played like they had nothing to lose - tons of youthful exuberance....Remember lines that included Laurie Boschman, Trevor Johansen, Jimy Jones, Rocky Saganiuk and Bruce Budreau?
