Joe Bowen on Sundin- Pulled?

Love him or hate him, here is a guy who probably knows the players and the team better then anyone around. So when Joe Bowen throws in an opinion I am going to listen (at least just a little bit)

“My gut feeling is that Mats is going to retire and if he plays at all it might be back in Sweden. I do not have a deadline for this information.”

So, Bowen’s opinion is of high value in of itself, but what way be the most interesting is that it appears that his blog has since been yanked from the Leafs site. Kudos to Kuklas corner for getting a tiny piece of the story….

However ever since it was posted the following error keeps coming up:

“An error occurred while processing your request.
Reference #97.15b75640.1219885529.162da99”

So while it could be a coincidence, I am suspecting it just isn’t the type of thing the Buds wanted on their site….

but who knows.

In any event I take Bowen’s opinion over Hanky’s any day…..

That’s not typically an error you’d see when a page was pulled from a site. If they yanked it, you would see a 404 or some sort of custom error page that would appear immediately.

It actually looks like their entire blog server is down.

Could be a coincidence, but sure seems to me that lots of people are thinking he is going to retire at this point…Just wait for the “his experience with the Leafs turned him off hockey” stories!

“Just wait for the “his experience with the Leafs turned him off hockey” stories!”

No doubt from the exact same folks who’ve been writing the “No Leaf ever retires as captain” stories.

Actually, I can see him playing a year or so for Djurgardens. Sort of a Salming-esque non-retirement retirement.

I still can’t access the blog for what its worth.

If Sundin comes back after the season, he too is a fraud and should be called out for it….

It’s a conspiracy…. those leafs, they must be in collusion with the liberal, the CBC and George Bush. I’ll even bet that CSIS the CIA and the UN are all workin’ together to keep control of the free world. It could even be a Russian ploy to take over the world.
……….or maybe the blog servers down just like someone else commented. I just checked nhl.com and they seem to be having problems too.
As for Sundin, move on for the love of….. At least the few Leaf fans that thought his departure should have come years ago. I’m glad to see Tucker, Wellwood and Raycroft all gone. Now we need to move 24, buy out 55 and stop reliving the past by signing a goalie we ditched years and bringing back otherwise retired geriatric GM’s. This town just doesn’t get it; it may very well be too late for many of us.
The one question I have is this; Where’s Toronto’s Syd the Kid, Ovechkin, Malkin or Stall Bro’s? Even if we weren’t good enough to win, we dumb enough to not suck enough I guess. If you want to look at a great reason why Toronto has always failed over the last 15 to 20 years or so, look no further than the man at the helm now. This team gave up many a great draft picks and organizational depth for the dream of advancement in the early to mid 90’s while Fletcher stood watch, then they moved him on and kept on dreamin’ all the way until Feb 08 when they decided to do it all over again.
Cliff, why not see if Clark will come back, perhaps you can go out and find Corson again while you’re at. This team needs a complete overhaul from the ice up.
