What The Maple Leafs Could Like Post Deadline

So our man LT was thinking about what the Buds should/could look like post nhl trade deadline. When he did this, he wasn’t thinking cap implications, rather just what he would like the roster to look like after the deadline. Here is his lineup:

Mark Bell(2.167m) Matt stajan (1.75m) Tim Stapleton (.725m)
Nilklas hagman(3m) Mikhail Grabovski(.850m Lee Stempniak(2.5m)
Bates Battaglia(650m) Boyd Devereaux(.575m) Nikolai Kulemin(1.475m)
Brad May(.600m) John Mitchell(.487m) Jamal Mayers(1.333m)

Anton Stralman (.732m) Jonas Frogren(1.065m)
Mike Van Ryn(2.9m) Jeff Finger(3.5m)
Luke Schenn(2.975m) Ian White (.850m)

Vesa Toskala (4m)
Curtis Joseph (.700m)

As you can see from this lineup, Burke loaded up on draft picks and prospects as with all the players leaving not a single guy came back.

What do you think/realistically hope the buds lineup will look like on March 5?

Now that’s some kinda major league gutting LT,Ted Nugent would be proud!

Without naming those absent,I sure hope he scored at least 3 firsts(this or next year) a couple of 2nd’s and some blue chip prospects,at least 2

I wonder if the league would allow the Leafs to ice this team,it’s worse than one would expect from a first year expansion.

I forgot to mention…the team will go 12-6 after the deadline with a streaking Tim Stapleton recording 18 points in 18 games! Cujo get’s to play a few and records 4 shutouts!

The D doesn’t look far off where it might actually be, but I don’t think the forward group will look anything like this.

In terms of outbound, Antro’s likely gone, not sure about Poni.

Moore seems to make Blake work, so his fate is likely tied to what Burke can do with #55…

In terms of in-bound, I don’t think there’s any way Burke can move Blake without taking on bad salary in return, so you’ll have to slot in overpaid underperformer into the Leafs line-up (Kariya? Rosival? Gigeure?)

As for Antro, Kubina, Kaberle I have to believe at least one, if not more, NHL ready prospects will come back with that bunch.

No matter how it turns out, come March 5th this line up is going to be thinner a Hollywood starlet on a clenbuterol bender .

wow….that’s an ugly line up.

agree with Mf37. Got to believe some roster ready prospects or bad contracts come back our way.

another thought (hit submit too soon!)

wouldn’t this put the team below the salary floor?

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
