TFC Head Coach John Carver Bails On Team

Interesting story from the Soccer world here in town today. TFC head coach John Carver quit on his team after what sounds like a lack of support from management with respect to a fine he received last week for questioning the officiating in a game. Carver wasn’t reimbursed for the $750 fine and it sounds like he wanted a little more moral support for his words then he received:

“The result of his decision means that assistant coach Chris Cummins, who took charge of the team for Wednesday’s win, and fellow assistant Nick Dasovic will oversee the team for the game against the Kansas City Wizards Sunday. Director of soccer Mo Johnston said a decision on the vacant head coaching position will be made early next week. “We would sincerely like to thank John for his work with Toronto FC during his time here,” said Johnston. “We appreciate all his hard work in helping this team become more competitive, and we wish him all the best.” In 36 MLS games, Carver led Toronto FC to 11 wins, 15 defeats and 10 draws. In addition, he coached the team to one win, one loss and two draws in the 2008 Nutrilite Canadian Championship.”

So TFC fans, enlighten me, this good, bad or irrelevant?
