Really sad news at this hour folks. Peter Zezel is going to be taken off life support in the next little while. This is the worst possible news for friends and loved ones. Zezel was a Maple Leaf from 1991 to 1994, scoring 50 goals and 78 assists in 207 games.
We wish all that love and care for him our support this afternoon.

Zezel bled blue and white
this is is a very sad time for all his extended family in Leaf Nation
Zezel Bled Red, White and Blue when he played here in DC…prayers for him….
Brutal….I know someone that knew him years ago and apparently he is a super guy. Also, still does charity work in Toronto…He is a regular at the Baycrest International Pro-AM Hockey Tournament (for Alzheimer).

I am sorry to hear of the news of Peter Zezel’s death. I also have hemolytic anemia since 1999 but when steroids didn’t work they removed my spleen right away (in 1999) and I have been okay since. I don’t understand why doctors waited all this time before removing his spleen because it seemed to me that was the next step when steroids didn’t work. I only suffered for several months before my spleen was removed and it was brutal. Blood transfusions every week and extreme fatigue all the time. I had complications after my splenectomy but I fortunately survived them and I am very lucky to be alive today. My prayers got out to Peter’s family and friends.
Hey thanks for the comment GDS. Great insight and I am sure that all of the readers and writers at TSM wish you nothing but good health in the future!
