By the time we all woke up this morning a significant group of golfers had begun their first round at the Open Championship at Turnberry. It was 1994 the last time this course was used for the Open where Nick Price won his first and only claret jug. Sitting atop the leader board is none other then five-time Open champion Tom Watson who finished the day five under par. Watson knows Turnberry well. He won on this Scottish track back in 1977. Watson may turn out to be this year’s Greg Norman. The only difference is Watson doesn’t have a history of choking.
