Ok I know, it’s are expensive. I also know that many who read this can’t afford to go to games, many of you tell me all the time. So I am extremly sensitive to that issue. However, I was totally blown away when I buzzed through my weekly TravelZoo weekly deals and found this gem:
“There’s a lot of hype around Hogtown as the Maple Leafs look to get back on the winning track this season. One of their toughest tests comes Saturday, Oct. 10 when they face Sidney Crosby and the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Very few tickets remain for this marquee match up, however, a unique VIP opportunity exists.
Forgo the sports bar in favour of a Gondola Suite package at the ACC! Pay $227 and receive these extras (per person):
One ticket in a private suite
VIP entrance through Gate 2
Unlimited sports fans buffet incl. soft drinks
One Toronto Raptors ticket (choose from up to ten games)
Experience the action from the same vantage point as the media do in the Foster Hewitt Media Gondola. This offer is valid only for the Saturday, Oct. 10 game.”
Now, those gondola suites are WAY up there. All you can eat and (Soft)drink and the Raptors ticket may make this a pretty good deal- especially against Pittsburgh! I know it is above people’s budgets.
I think this is clearly a sign of the time folks. It’s hard to believe the Leafs have had to take to the streets to sell these types of things…
Who would have thunk it….
