College of Sports Media Game of the Night:
We’re 72 days away from the opening of the Vancouver Olympics, but tonight there will be a preview of what to expect between the pipes. Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils battles Roberto Luongo and the Vancouver Canucks in the Garden State. It’s the one and only meeting this season between the two potential number one goaltenders for Team Canada. The last time this two teams tangled was back in the 2007-08 season and Luongo shut out the Devils 5-0. So far this season Brodeur looks to have the step up on the number one spot. The Devils net minder 2.05 goals against average and a .925 save percentage. Luongo, on the other hand has a 2.56 GAA and a .910 save percentage. This is the first of a four game road trip for the Canucks, while the Devils play eight of their next nine at home. New Jersey must really love home cooking – they’ve won six straight at the Prudential Centre.
