Toronto Sports Media Game of the Night

College of Sports Media Game of the Night:

Tonight the Toronto Raptors have the chance to cross an item off their regular season to-do list – string together a three game winning streak. On Friday night the Raptors were in Washington to play the Wizards for the second time in one week. The game went into overtime and thanks to a last second bucket from Hedo Turkoglu, Toronto squeaked past the Washington 109-107.  The very next night the Raps were in Chi-town to take on the Bulls. No extra time needed in this one. Chris Bosh had 25 points and 12 boards in 22 minutes of work and Toronto smoked Chicago 110-78. Fast forward to tonight and the Raptors are at the ACC to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Toronto has had a lot of success against Minnesota. They’ve beaten them 10 straight times and haven’t lost since Jan. 21, 2004. Minnesota is rebuilding. Since the departure of Kevin Garnett this team has struggled, but has some young talent that should start to prove itself over the next couple of seasons. Rookie point guard Jonny Flynn, out of Syracuse, is averaging just over 13 points and close to four assists a game. Second year man Kevin Love is finally back from injury. He broke his hand in the preseason. In his first two games back he’s posted back-to-back double doubles. The best player on this team is forward Al Jefferson, who was part of the Garnett deal. Jefferson is averaging 15 points and provides the ‘Wolves with a strong inside presence.

For anyone who missed the NFL Monday night-er pregame show, Raptors guard Jarrett Jack got called out by Stuart Scott and the boys, during the ‘Come On Man’ segment. During Saturday night’s game, the Bulls sat and watched as Jack tied his shoelace with the 24 second clock running down and the ball under his arm. No Bull went for the steal. Come on man!
