College of Sports Media Game of the Night:
For the only time this season, what could have been, the battle of Southern Ontario goes down at the ACC. Let me clarify. The Toronto Maple Leafs are the original six team that control hockey in the GTA. The Phoenix Coyotes would have eventually ended up in the province had Jim Balsillie had his way and not gotten Gary Bettman-ed. Over the last ten games the Leafs are 7-3 and two points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. On Monday night Toronto edged their current division rival, the Ottawa Senators 3-2. Goaltender Vesa Toskala made 22 stops in the win and has begun to prove his worth as the starting guy for the Leafs. Phoenix on the other had is coming off a loss Monday 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. Althought Phoenix is coming off a loss, their season has been pretty good. They’ve already got 40 points so far this season and sit third in the Pacific division behind the San Jose Sharks and surprising LA Kings.
