Toronto Sports Media Game of the Night

College of Sports Media Game of the Night:

Tonight the Toronto Raptors are in Orlando to take on the Magic for the fourth time already this season. The Magic have won the first three meetings and have a chance at the series sweep of their division rivals. Since losing to Orlando back on December 16, Toronto comes into this one on somewhat of a roll. They’ve gone 6-1 and are coming off a momentum building win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday afternoon. A lot of Toronto’s success can be attributed to the play of Chris Bosh. Over the stretch of the last seven games, Bosh is averaging 22.6 points and 11.6 rebounds. In fact this season he’s averaging career highs in points (23.7), rebounds (11.3) and shooting percentage (51.9). He also leads the NBA in double-doubles with 25, one ahead of Orlando’s Dwight Howard. The Raptors also welcome Jose Calderon back to the line up tonight. Calderon has missed the last 12 of 13 games with a hip injury and it looks like he’ll be coming off the bench to start with. Orlando on the other hand has lost it’s last two games including a loss to the Pacers last night in Indiana. Magic’s Superman, Howard was outplayed by wet-behind the ears centre Roy Hibbert. Hibbert dropped a career high 26 points on Orlando’s big man, leading the Pacers to the 97-90 win. Over the last six games Howard has struggled offensively, averaging only 10.6 points, including three games where he didn’t reach double digits. This season Howard is averaging 16.7 points, his lowest offensive output since the 2005-06 season. Toronto and Bosh are hoping their team will find the kryptonite needed to keep Superman grounded and take a much needed win out of Orlando.
