College of Sports Media Game of the Night:
Is it any surprise that Steve Nash is Canadian? In the final seconds of game three Nash took another shot to his nose by Lakers’ guard Derek Fisher. Rather than checking out of the game, Nash took it upon himself to set his nose back into place and stayed in the game. Yesterday Nash underwent minor surgery to repair the nasal fracture and will stillbe in the line up tonight. All he’s missing is the NHL playoff beard. That’s good news for the Phoenix Suns. Behind a monstrous 42 point night from Amar’e Stoudemire the Suns won their first game of the series 118-109. It also helps that Phoenix got to the charity stripe 42 times. They got 37 free throw points was a major factor in their win. Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol continue to roll for the Lake-show. The duo combined for 59 points – 54% of the teams points on Sunday night. If Phoenix can continue to limit LA’s offence to just Bryant and Gasol, they’ll have a great chance at tying up the series and turning the Western Conference finals into a best of three.
