Painfull Footage From NHL Draft Cam Fowler

I’m not sure what’s worse, seeing teams pass over you, or knowing that as teams do pass over you that you are wearing a mic and a camera is on you. This is excellent, yet excruciating footage of now Anaheim Duck Cam Fowler waiting what must have seemed like hours before his name was called at the NHL Draft. The absolute highlight is Craig Button coming over and giving him a pep talk- that is 100% genuine class.

On one hand, it is painful to see, and you have to feel bad for them (mostly because of the mic, like you said) but on the other hand, I can’t feel bad for someone who is getting drafted into the NHL.
Craig Button said it perfectly. Draft slot doesn’t change the player you are. If anything, Fowler should only use that experience as motivation to prove those 12 or 13 teams that passed over him wrong.

Classy move by Button indeed.
Also classy was Ryan Miller thanking Patrick Lalime when he won the Vezina.

Nice talk from Button.

Given Cam’s last name I think it was destined and appropriate for the Ducks to have selected him. 😀

Still a top 15 pick…good for Fowler but man…that has to be tough for such a young person to have to go through…with his family there and the world watching (ok, Canada watching). I liked his attitude…looking forward to seeing him outperform picks 5-11. Thumbs up to Craig Button….
