To help wash away yesterday’s memories of Indecision 2010: The LeBron James Hour, TSN is airing the Toronto Argonauts versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers tonight at 8 p.m.
Winnipeg’s offense, particularly Buck Pierce and Terrence Edwards were dominant last week, toppling the Hamilton Tiger-cats 49-29.
The Argos best shot of suppressing Winnipeg will be the tandem of Adriano Belli suspension) and Willie Middlebrooks (injury). That can be achieved only if Toronto’s D avoids penalty problems, which translates into no need for Adriano to get bellicose.
Blue Bomber’s running back Fred Reid got off to a great start last week, bursting through tackles and running 50 yards to set up Steven Jyles touchdown, making it 38-23. The good news for Argos fans is that Reid has had a rough time making offensive plays against them.
One example of where the Argos and Leafs differ is fan support. While ACC sells out regardless of how well the Leafs play, the Boatmen aren’t so lucky. Ticket sales have dropped 10% in the past two years and fans are waiting to see an improvement on last season’s squad before shelling out for gridiron gazing at Rogers Centre.
