640 AM had Andre Dawson on at 5:05 p.m., a nice surprise. I caught most of it, and The Hawk was quite eloquent, and had some nice things to say about Montreal, something that was missing from his HOF speech.

Hayes did a good job in the interview, as he had a reasonable knowledge of Dawson’s career, and let Andre open up a bit.

I’m working in Halifax right now and happened to catch a little bit of Andrew Krystal doing his last show here today.

I’m not sure how he’ll be when it comes to sports, but as a talk host I really like what I heard (based on 15 minutes anyway). Seemed pretty smart and engaging. Whether you liked Hogan or not, it will definitely be A LOT different from his old show.

Gotta hand it to Bob for having Cyd Ziegler on occasionally to discuss gay issues in sports, specifically what would happen if a current North American pro athlete came out during his career. Both expressed surprise that it hasn’t happened yet since most surveys have shown that the majority of fans would be accepting. No other host touches the issue, but Bob is able to treat the subject matter like he’s talking about anything else. Kudos.
