Here are some interesting statistics about the number of comments left on this site over the last few months:

Average # of comments on posts relating to sports media = 7.25 comments per post

Average # of comments on posts relating to other topics = 0.25 comments per post

Yes it is true that the recent 590 debacle has inflated the number of comments on sports media posts………..but I still think the message is clear………..I am not saying the other topics (NFL previews, Leaf lineups, game of the night, etc) have no value………….it just seems to me that people who visit this site prefer to read about sports media issues

Excellent point Mike, and if you factor in how this is the only site left standing with any credibility in covering sports media, there is really no reason to cover the other areas of general sports. I understand trying to grow the website, but maybe the attempt to add the television sports media into the mix would go over better.

There are enough other sites that specialize in the general sports that it is redundant to have it here too. As a Raptors fan, why would I care about the team coverage here when I have about a dozen sites bookmarked, of which I check a half dozen of them daily.

The non-sports media coverage is just clutter, and I would prefer to read and comment about sports media issues exclusively but that is not my call.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
