Line Up: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Date: October 13, 2010

Rink: Consol Energy Center (Pittsburgh)

Puck Drop: 7:30PM ET

Radio: AM 640

The Leafs head out for their first road games of the season and hope for a better result at the new Consol Energy Center than they had previously at the old Mellon Arena.  Tonight will certainly be a better test for the Leafs as they face Crosby, Malkin et al and not benefit from last change.  Unlike some MSMs; I refuse to say that tonights game “will tell us what the Leafs really are”.  I subscribe to the mantra that you need larger blocks of games to make a true assessment.  A win or a hard fought close loss will certainly add to my opinion but…I’m going to wait 8-10 games to really feel good about the 2010-2011 season…for now, I’ll simply remain optimistic and pleased with what we’ve seen….and enjoy the entertaining hockey (which the first two games delivered).

At the time this post was created, there were no after practice posted line-ups.  All indications are that Wilson will ice the same team that he did against Montreal and Toronto…with one exception.  Most had thought that Gustavsson would get his first start against the Ranges Friday – but the Fan reported that he will start tonight.  I’m going to have to delete from my Line-Up post template “Scratched: Jeff Finger”.
