It was great hearing Krystal on with McCown today.
The last couple of days, Krystal has been inane exploring topics like whether or not the Raptors will contract or if they have a future here.
Comes across as so out of touch. This isn’t 1995, they have a really passionate fanbase. Obviously its far smaller than, say, the Leafs. But it’s a healthy franchise from a business perspective.
Anyway, McCown completely set him straight and said that was an incredibly stupid topic – basically devalidating Krystal’s last two shows. If Krystal has been annoying you, it’s worth listening to.
The conversation showed how much Krystal struggles with sports knowledge. McCown really wiped the floor with him.
Funnily enough, I thought Krystal’s interview with Rob Ford today was quite good.
I caught the first part of it, tuning in for McCown and the first thing I hear is Krystal’s voice. I was about to turn the station, but gave it a listen to see how the Bobcat handled him. My sentiments exactly on what transpired. For Krystal to even suggest something like the Raptors getting contracted is so beyond ridiculous it does not even register.
It is obvious that Krystal can hold his own with politicians and other non-sports personalities, at least that is what I keep reading. When it comes to sports, he is clueless, and has no feel for it whatsoever. Why again is he the morning person on an all-sports station? Can someone explain this to me.
I can’t catch the 3-4pm hour because I’m at work so I check for the MP3 file on the fan590 website and can’t find it. Various other segments are there. Not the one with Krystal. The same goes for another recent segment with Friedman. What’s up with that?
I’m listening to it now, Bobcat is slapping him around. and It sounds great.
Lister – you can get them by downloading the whole hour in question (which I get from iTunes).
