Really interesting chat after 5 about McCown being extremely close to going to WIOD in Miami in the early 80s.

He was about to go, but was offered the Sportsline job in Toronto.

That was kind of intersting, a quarter hour show on horse racing? what the H! I wonder if “soccer guys” on sportsnet are upset that Brunt is able to go to the finals of Champions League, that is sweet!

What is the ratio of Elliott coming on to be their baseball commentator and him not watching the previous night game. I appreciate they don’t always go “in house” (sportsnet/fan guys) as guests, but Elliott not watching the games and then bringing him as a guest over and over again is just odd.

I also thought it was funny they brought in Sugar just to talk about something that happened over a quarter century back, if boxing is really that irrelevant now do we really need a regular guest to come in to just talk about the “good ol’ days” more than a couple of times a year. To Sugar credit he tried to talk about the underwhelming Pacquiao/Mosley fight and called it poor but McCown just wants to go back and talk about the glory days.

I love Bert Sugar, but you just posed two qustions that I think are glaring problems with PTS. (same ‘ol, same ‘ol) I feel like I am stuck in the 1970’s listening to McCown. I like some of those old time stories (I am from that era) , but that’s all he’s got now. He’s old and it’s showing on air..He’s been at this too long – no new tricks
