Shannon telling Hughson that people think he’s a homer, and asking for his thoughts on it, might have been the only time I’ve heard him ask a hardball question on PTS.
“Shannon telling Hughson that people think he’s a homer, and asking for his thoughts on it, might have been the only time I’ve heard him ask a hardball question on PTS.”
He probably gave him a heads up off air, or Hughston asked him to ask it, because Shannon simply does not ask hard questions.
Normally I’d agree, but Hughson, seemed quite pissy about it even being brought up and spun like the magic dreidel about how objective he was.
I believe the exact wording was “People think you’re cheering for the Canucks”.
I thought Hughson dodged the question. However at this stage of the playoffs the Canadian announcers usually lean to the Canadian squads. Emrick on NBC on the other hand, when a Canadian team was in the finals I felt he always got over the romance and “big deal” feel a Finals in Canada had. Like when the Edmonton crowd sang both anthems ; he put it over huge.
