TSN should just change the name of the drive show to “The TSN Circle Jerk”. For the most part, it’s the same group of TSN employees every afternoon.
Hilarious.
Another appearance from Jim Barker, I bet he’s moved into the station at this point.
All the CFL talk is really souring me on TSN Radio.
Brunt got owned on the show tonight re: his ‘scoop’ of the Winnipeg deal being a ‘done deal’ over a week ago. Mark Chipman said he did not know where Brunt got his info but the deal was not even officially signed off on just hours before the news conference.
Doesn’t mean the deal wasn’t done, in principal, weeks ago. Chipman isn’t about to throw Bettman under the bus, nor should he. If you believe that deal wasn’t officially signed off just before the presser, then I have land in Florida to sell you 🙂
I am so tired of the Brunt bashing going on. What did you expect Chipman to say? The only reason why Winnipeg got a team was because they have kissed Bettman’s behind since the beginning, and that will not change, at least not until they get their approval from the Board of Governers, and even then, I don’t see why they would, as it is still in their best interests to keep the relationship the same.
If Brunt said the deal was done, and the presser was scheduled for the following Tuesday, then I believe it. The delay was done, as McCown alluded to, in order for Brunt not to get the story dead-on and embarass Bettman, who always wants to be the one in complete control. Had Brunt not broken the story, and nobpdy else did, the presser would have taken place exactly as Brunt had predicted it would.
Raptors Devotee exactly! The date for the announcement was off by a week but the deal got done. In the world of multimillion dollar acquisitions I would say that was like a leaner in horseshoes.
