nice line-ups all around. very glad to see that 640 aren’t mailing it in, despite their inevitable move away from sports.

Looks like TSM called it, Pierre McGuire off to NBC.

Pierre certainly has an over the top personality with his phrases like “warrior” and if you listen to him at the draft every team got a future hall of famer. I’m sure he knows the game inside and out but I for one wish he got laryngitis more often. In saying that I’m sure TSN is happy with him and wish he was staying full time. Not my cup of tea.

True enough, but I wonder if anyone is actually listening.

Not my cup of tea either.

On another note, I keep seeing these TV commercials promoting PTS with McCown, Cox and Brunt, but, how often have we actually heard PTS with McCown, Cox and Brunt? Seems like the latter two are absent far more than they’re on the show. Is this really how this was supposed to work?

I have to give some love to McCown, his first hour guests were the most important sports stories of the weekend

National women soccer team going into Gerrmany in front of 73 thousand fans against the home team who is ranked second (many think should be first) and losing by just a goal. With Captain Sinclair breaking her nose. Yelling at the trainers and sideline refs to leg her back in the game. Getting back on and playing and late in the game kicking a beautiful free kick from outside the box that even though it’s still a lose an important goal difference in the round robin of this stage.

Other big story was Jays sweeping the Cards and Romero not just pitching a shutout but getting an RBI hit in an appearance after he complained (which I agree he should have) about the lack of run support.

Those were the story’s of the weekend, not rehashing draft talk over and over again like you had during the day. So applaud PTS for that. As for TSNR, I love PTI, but from any of the timespots you can choose on C&C why put Wilbon on during the exact same time PTI is on TV?

Good point, but it’s summer time. Let’s see what happens in the fall.

Knock McCown all you want. He’s the best in town right now. End of conversation.
