I thought that TSN let one ‘get away’ when Damien Cox signed with the FAN…I found that his work on TSN was pretty decent (on the Reporters and commenting on the hockey pregame shows etc).

I find now though on PTS he makes it impossible to listen to when he’s on. I guess he has sunk to the level of the Sportsnet culture (sub par talent, sub par shows).

His facial expression on TV and tone of his voice on radio would turn milk sour. As I recall, he was on PTS quite often before the late Jim Kelley took over, but was fired – I thought it was because the audience hated him so much on that show. Why then bring him back? Anyway, I thought I would throw that out there…I am not a FAN guy at all anymore. Jim Kelley chased me away when he was on with McCown and I’ve never gone back, except to sample – I remain unimpressed and I honestly prefer Cybulski on TSN, with the exception of Gareth Wheeler or any discussion of MMA or UNC (or WTF – it’s not a sport) Wheeler’s voice grates on me – It is unlistenable.

But I do prefer Cybulski’s show to McCown as McCown has become to old for me. I am 50 already and he (and most of his panel) makes me feel 65 when I listen…

Time to work now – I felt like rambling…

When Cox left PTS about 7 years ago it was not because 590 was unhappy with his performance……………PTS started being shown on Sportsnet at that time and Cox was working for TSN so it didn’t make a lot of sense to keep him on PTS

I find that I’m now skipping parts of PTS when Cox is on, unless I’m really interested in the guest.

His constant hi-jacking of the show make it hard to listen.

I’m very surprised how lousy Cox is on the radio. Wasn’t he pretty good once upon a time?

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
