Another day, and another discussion about how Wade Belak died without being specific.

Why does it matter how he died? Who really cares? Suicide, mis-adventure, car accident, murder, does it REALLY matter? The only tragedy here is he left a wife and two girls behind.

@Lagerandale Exactly what I was thinking. Does the media have to keep hinting at how he died. His girls are going to grow up without a father. Time to leave it alone.

Must say that 10 games for Shelley … good. Nice start Shanahan.

BTW TSM, notice not a lot of females make comments on your blogs. Hopefully there are other females besides myself that follow you on a regular basis. I could be wrong.

Also, if this is the new Jays logo … I like it.

lagerandale — I don`t disagree with you. However, if they`re going to go to this topic two days in a row, then they need to stop talking in code and just shoot straight. Otherwise, don`t go there.

I’m glad they are going back to the original logo. Mind you, I hope they don’t overdo the Maple Leaf angle. We all know the team is based in Canada, we all like Canada, everyone else knows the team is in Canada…so why shove the Maple Leaf down everyone’s throat.

Who cares?

Which brings me to poor Mr. Belek. My heart truly goes out to his little ones but, sadly, he was a celebrity and that coupled with an untimely death is news. If this was Charlie Sheen found dead like this, the media, EVERYWHERE, would be absolutely all over it. He has kids, too.

So, who cares how he died? Lots of people. And because we get the impression that this is being swept under the rug because he was a “hockey guy”, enquiring minds want to know. No matter how distasteful it might appear (and, I agree that it does).

Just so damn sad.

As for Shanahan – 10 games? Good on him. Keep it up and things will change – very, very quickly.

Love the new logo. The Black and Graphite style looked pretty mickey mouse to me.

If they go back to blue and white unis with a logo that is something like that, then I’d be really, really happy.

The only reason I think his cause of death is relevant is that, if it was a suicide, it feeds into the MSM narrative about fighters and suicide and all that. If it was a David Carradine/Michael Hutchence situation, it doesn’t become part of the Boogard/Rypien story.

Either way, the death is tragic for his friends and loved ones.

re shelley 10 games … its really a five gamer (preseason don’t count), 20 games would have just about stopped this stuff dead.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
