I tried with the Argos. I paid attention to training camp, I followed the first few games, trying to get to know some of the players, I even watched the 24-7 type show TSN did on the Argos.

I went to a game in the Skydome and it was so-o-o boring…..

I don’t know anyone who even cares about the Argos.

Blair tweeted that as a tribute to John MacDonald, all Jay players names must now be preceded with a “Mac”, ie MacBatista.

I’m with you guys.

I get why it’s popular around the country (tradition/longevity/cities around the country with limited options for pro sports) and I understand that TSN does VERY WELL for their TV broadcasts nationwide but even while understanding that the CFL can’t work without a Toronto team, I just don’t understand why it’s shoved down the collective throats of this city when it has rejected the league so emphatically over the last decade or so.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve talked Argo football with anyone and or seen anyone in an Argos jerseys.

This is a pity because they have, by far, the coolest nickname of any sports franchise I know, with their nod to Greek mythology.

I have always thought that their cheerleaders could also hold to the Argonaut theme and call themselves “The Medeas” (Jason’s wife who kills their kids in revenge for his infidelities) and the cheerleaders could rip apart the live flesh of animals during halftime to stir the crowd into a frenzy.

No, I am not being serious.

I was listening a episode of PTS from earlier in the week during lunch and it may have been one of the worst examples of Damion trying to derail the show with his interruptions and non-sequitars.

There are days I just don’t even bother listening to the show when he is on.

Couldn’t they just him his own show where he can steer the car however he wants and leave PTS alone?
