I wonder if there was a Sportsnet memo that they had to discuss the new uniforms at the top of each hour. Sure seems that way.

One of the worst roundtables in the history of PTS.

It’s been a surprisingly decent roundtable, Wilner is good when he doesn’t have to interact with fans.

I thought the roundtable was surprisingly okay, but with one notable exception. That is, when Damien went off on how the Jays uniforms are just a cash grab, and don’t look different than last years black and cobalt ones. Geez he even said they really haven’t changed much over the years since the beginning. That tells me that a) he never watches the Jays or b) is completely blind.

Channel surfing & came across Sportsnet broadcasting a junior game with Mr Cox giving his expert opinion/analysis of a junior (goalie) player from the Quebec League which is kinda hard to take serious when he has a tough time talking about The Leafs who he sees quite often……

Pretty good roundtable. But when the topic is baseball, and the guests are Wilner, Cox and Shannon – I really would rather hear Wilner’s opinion than the other two. And Wilner probably spoke the least, unfortunately.

Cox’s statement that the uniform hadn’t really changed that much was pretty silly. It was a pretty clear massive overhaul in 04, and now another big overhaul back to the originals (more or less).

Also, it made me roll my eyes when Cox and Shannon kept peppering Lawrie with hockey questions. Cox: “You’ve got some hockey player in you”. Lawrie: “yeah I’ve heard that.” Shannon: “What level of hockey did you get to”. Lawrie: “I didn’t play hockey”. Cox and Shannon: “What?? you didn’t play hockey!? You’re Canadian!”

Getting Canadian hockey media guys to hold conversations in other sports is excruciating to listen to sometimes.

Flipped on TV to see some of the WORST round table ever!!
To see cox, blair and shannon on TV is like watching
three guys audition for part-time jobs at Penn State.
Lasted about 6 minutes then click!!
They should have had krystal on as a fourth
to make it a round table Hall Of Shame.

I’m a big Wilner fan. Mostly because I enjoy how he puts the dumb callers in their place. “Hey dey should sign Fielder…..maybe dey should move Lawrie ta third..” yadda yadda….

If Cox had shut his mouth for more than 10 seconds we might have heard more of Wilner yesterday. Cox talking baseball is like Vin Scully talking greyhound racing….although Scully could probably make even that sound interesting!

If anyone wants to hear a fantastic interview, try and find Al Michaels on Howard Stern last week. Simply one of the most enjoyable segments on radio in a long time. Michaels is hilarious, well informed and very intelligent.

How in the heck is Damien Cox still employed by Sportsnet?
I cringed when he started to talk about The Jays new uniforms(which are awesome by the way).
The guy is just clueless. Jeff Blair was being really polite with him. You could tell Blair wanted to scream at Cox and tell him to shut the eff up!
Also, if you are going to be talking baseball, and have an in-house guest like Brett Lawrie was yesterday, have your facts before hand! Cox and Shannon looked like they lost their favorite toy because Lawrie didn’t play hockey growing up. They looked like morons for not knowing Lawrie didn’t play hockey.

Enjoy your Saturday!;)
