Happy Black Friday!
Did you happen to catch the NFL early game yesterday between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers? The highlight of the game was when Ndamukong Suh, of the Lions went a little nuts, slammed a guys head into the grand a couple of times before stomping on him too. He got the ejected from the game.
Why do I raise this? Well, all the talk at both the local and national levels was about Ndamukong Suh and how he should be suspended. It was quite refreshing to hear. So many times I think it’s just the hockey MSMers who are nuts when an incident occurs. Hearing guys like Dan Marino and Bill Cowher go off on this guy was great. On the national level it was unanimous that something needs to be done. At the local level, well, it was like you would expect.
The worst part was the brutal excuse on the part of Ndamukong Suh, saying that he was getting held down and then was trying to regain his balance. He then said that only he and the man upstairs now the truth. Sharpe on the post game said it best when he said that Ndamukong Suh must have been talking to him, because they were on the 22nd floor (or something like that) and that Ndamukong Suh simply doesn’t get it. I think Boomer Esiason said that Ndamukong Suh has no respect for opposing players. How refreshing.
Now, what i haven’t heard yet are the old timers coming out saying that it was a clean hit, or simply part of the game, like we usually see in hockey. The experts were saying he’s going to get suspended for 2 games. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
