There is no chance in hell of the Jays signing Fielder. It’s not going to happen.

Going for a long drive this afternoon, I flipped over to hear Hayes interview Richard Griffin of The Star. Something really weird happened in the middle of the interview: talking about the free agencies of Pujols and Fielder, Griffin said that Pujols was the likeliest to leave his respective team. Hayes thought that was surprising, as did I, and when he asked Griffin about it, Griffin explained that this was because Pujols was represented by Scott Boras, so that means he would be the likeliest to take the most money.

Clearly Griffin simply mixed up his Pujols and Fielder here, because earlier in the interview he pointed out that it was Fielder, and not Pujols, who was represented by Boras. Well, what made this comment so strange is that Hayes let Griffin continue for about 5 minutes (not an exaggeration) with his explanation about how Pujols was likeliest to leave his team because of his connection to Boras. I started to wonder whether Hayes was listening, or whether he just felt too embarrassed to point out the mistake. I wasn’t sure what to make of the whole thing – was it just a silly mistake, or was it a sign that the guy (Griffin) is losing it? Either way, someone should have noticed it, I think.

Having the Toronto Baseball media get screwed up is certainly no surprise to me. It is either about how brilliant A.A. is , how wonderful Beeston says the Jay’s situation is, What exactly have they done? To Quote Bill Parcells, ‘ I don’t care about the pregnancy! Show me the baby!”

Why is the Toronto Media and most Fans so hung up on Home Run Hitters? Fielder will be 36 after an eight year contract. He can’t go from 2nd to 3rd on a triple, He is a road block on the base paths, and defensively has the range of an oak tree. My guess is that he will break down quickly. especially playing on cement in the dome. What Toronto needs and what you win with pitching, more pitching and defence.

This is no disrespect to Jose Bautista, he is a very nice player! But I crunched his home run numbers. Last season he hit 43 homers, of those 25 were in Blue Jays wins, but 6 were in blowout wins in which his home runs wouldn’t have mattered, 13 came in Blue Jay losses. So 19 of his 43 contributed to wins.

Load up on Pitching!

@Sam……I could tell it it was simply a milquetoast commercial for her reports so I changed to music.

Dunno if she is gay.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
