Simmons, Cox and any other Toronto MSM who find this a story need to get over themselves..

And now Steve Simmons (of all people) is calling Brian Burke an embarrassment because he said Wilson has the right to change his mind… get this… because Wilson DIDN’T change his mind.

Damien Cox seems to think he’s a media star now, and Steve Simmons just seems to enjoy being a douche-bag.

It never fails to surprise me how all the MSM’ers circle the wagons when one of them is attacked by Burke or Wilson.

Listening to Bobcat and Brunt discussing the Jays just after 5 tonight, sounds to me like now that Brunt is full time Rogers employee he may have drank the Kool-Aid to support all things Jays as a result. Good to have him back on radio though, I find the banter between these two so much better than the banter between Bobcat and any of the other co-hosts.

Other than the baseball talk I was bored to tears with PTS tonight. Not a golf fan so the “fwap fwap fwap” sound of everyone pulling their pud over Tiger’s win got me snoozing.

I’m thinking Wilson is showing symptoms of that pesky Blue and White disease…

Brunt lost all credability when he carried the olympic torch, never challenged that creep when he molested his babysitter[will not type his name] and generally lets BOB ramble on,i guess its hard to speak up when you have a school boy crush on the host. The show is dreadful, almost as bad as my spelling and grammar. All apologies…P.S. the book on Steve Jobs is a jem…

Jem is outrageous, truly truly outrageous. :>

I’ll take a sick Brunt over the alternatives.

Arthur had a great line tonight about how not even an infinite number of monkeys typing could find a way for Vince Carter to come back to the Raptors.

I agree with some of the posts. While Brunt seems to have lost some of his edge and interest in PTS, Brunt at his absolute worst is light-years better than any of the alternatives (Cox especially) at their absolute best.In fact, Brunt more and more is becoming the only reason to listen to PTS.

Brunt IS the only reason to listen to PTS.

I don’t remember Brunt being involved in the interview when Tillman joined the Eskimos. That was the only interview after he plead to the sexual assault.

Bob didn’t say anything much during that either when Tillman was painting it like he was the victim, and how hard it was for him. >_> BUT Bob didn’t defend him or encourage him in that direction either. He was neutral, and, honestly, I’m okay w/ that, it’s far better than some of the ways sexual assault is dealt w/ by media hosts.

I DO remember that in the winter when Tillman was in court, Brunt pointed out to Bob that Tillman had sexually assaulted a 16 year old, and that you couldn’t leave that detail out (much like how recently Brunt pointed out to Bob that what Sandusky did was rape children while Bob was trying to find a “delicate” way of putting it). So I don’t think it’s fair to say Brunt was trying to gloss over what Tillman did. Mostly, the discussion back then was if it was possible to hire Tillman again. And even Bob (though not in front of Tillman) admitted that while Tillman’s a friend, he has trouble processing what he did, and that’s fair, it’s preferable to “I defend him no matter what because he’s my friend”. :\ As a survivor of rape, I much prefer somebody to say honestly “that’s my friend, and I don’t know how to deal with it”, than “I know him, he wouldn’t do it, you must be lying”. 😐

I’d have been much more offended if Bob had offered excuses for him, or etc… :\

I hope Brunt gets better soon :\ Or that if he’s sick for the rest of the week, Perkins or Grange is Bob’s co-host and not Cox or Shannon.

@ Gerry(Burlington) just because Brunt is optimistic about the Blue Jays doesn’t make him a shill for Rogers. You should read what guys like Keith Law, Jonah Keri, and Jon Paul Morosi write about AA and the direction of the team if you feel that Brunt is being over the top.

Brunt is rarely this enthusiastic about things. I enjoy hearing him enthusiastic about the Blue Jays 😀

And besides, I thought everybody was SURE the Jays AREN’T going to sign Fielder, and that they are lying about spending money and etc etc (at least from all the phone calls into the FAN lately XD )… if Brunt was under marching orders from Rogers, wouldn’t he be DOWNPLAYING this and given good reasons why the Jays shouldn’t be trying to spend money and sign Fielder? :3

I never had any problem with Brunt and the torch relay. He didn’t try to hide it and honestly, it’s a once in a lifetime thing. I would have been responding with a giant fu if anyone challenged me in the same situation.
