Jay and Dan are something else. Maybe the most unique radio show on the planet?

Might be the first time I’ve ever heard a conversation on the radio about what they saw in the toilet, and compared it to gatorade.

What a holiday monday.

No prime time thanks to basketball and i didnt even get the chance to hear cybulski/arthur with the fill in guys.

I agree, that first half hour with the pee talk and then golden globes talk was pretty out there.

Heres hoping brunt is back tomorrow.

Anyone catch the Cathal Kelly article in the Star on AA??

http://www.thestar.com/sports/baseball/mlb/bluejays/article/1116365–toronto-blue-jays-gm-alex-anthopoulos-is-testing-the-fans-patience

Anyone catch the Cox article in the Star??

2 stories in one day. Makes me wonder if they have been reading TSM? Or maybe the wonderkids shine is wearing off elsewhere too??

yikes! that’s a pretty miserable line-up for TSN for a monday. Herm Edwards and Chris Schultz on the NFL? Not terribly current or compelling analysts. Couple that with oodles of hockey talk and it’s a pretty forgettable 3 hours of radio.

I tuned into Onrait and O’Toole today b/c the basketball game was still very early on… and I heard them talking about the colour of the urination in a toilet that one of them had apparently used or seen or something, and trying to determine what colour and consistency it was or something like that.. and I went back to the Raptors game…

>_<

Ppl weren't kidding when they said they were immature.

from the Star, on AA:
.

“Whether they intend to or not, Rogers is building around Anthopoulos the air of a general who isn’t allowed to give orders.”

.

ouch. the Star seems to have cornered the market on critical stories about the Jays. Since Blair works for Rogers and Elliott barely follows the team, this is not terribly surprising.

Or more like a general who can give orders as long as he’s not asking for more troops, equipment or weaponry. He can recruit from the local villages all he wants though. xD

TSNR timing is such a headscratcher at times, I guess if they have pre-planned vacation time there’s nothing you can do. But you have unopposed PTS on radio and Cybulski not on, the day after a pretty big NFL weekend and the voice you are pushing to be your primetime guy is not there? Why not wait until early next month as it’s a slow eventless time.

I was really positive about TSNR being on the air, but at times I listen to how they operate and wonder are they even trying?

Jay and Dan is just annoying.

Allow me to mock John Carlos’ doctorate. Tomorrow my semester begins, and I have to lug my ass in front of some university classes with a doctorate that took me almost 15 damn years to earn. Carlos may be a great man in many ways, but Texas A&M gave him an honorary doctorate and, to be blunt, only a child calls themselves a doctor because of an honorary title.

A couple of months ago John Stewart had a cat on air whom he called “Dr. Butterscotch” – I’m sure the title is just as valid for the cat as it is for Carlos.

The Star may have the stories, but that being said, are they wrong??

Chef Mike – the criticism is fair, but it seems to be coming mostly from one source. here’s my theory: the Jays used Griffin to spin the Darvish fiasco by leaking to him that they bid near $50 million. That was quickly debunked and Griffin looked like a fool (for the record, i really like Griffin as a writer). Since that time, Star writers have been in attack mode.
.

Rogers have given AA a $65 million payroll. They were able to avoid admitting that for a while, but there is no evidence to support the idea that AA has significantly more money than that to work with for the major league roster. Here’s a fun factoid: AA has never spent more than $4 million/year on a free agent.

I had no idea MLK was such a sports hero (end of sarcasm). He was a good man – let’s leave it at that. He had his flaws like everyone and is no saint.

As for Carlos, he was a hypocrite – no class at all.

It might be interesting to pay more attention to The Star for the next few weeks and see if this is their new “policy” on the Blues Jays, or if this is just a little slap on peepee to the Jays for using them during the Darvish thing?

Take alook at the comments that go along with the Kelly article, it almost reads like soem of those folks are here!! Either way, it should make the next month to spring training more interesting…

On a bigger scale, hasn’t this just become The Stars modus operandi towards everything nowadays? Whether they’re taking personal shots at Rob Ford, ripping on Stephen Harper or the Jays — they just seem to have become a very bitter news outlet. I used to read that paper religiously. Not so much any more.

The star has always been centre to centre-left, so their antipathy to Ford or Harper is easy. But Rogers is very different, not only as a huge advertiser, but they also want access to AA and the players, something the team controls, and pissing on them is hardly the way to keep that acccess…

We’ll see…

ANOTHER STEVE: Allow me to mock John Carlos’ doctorate

do you feel the same way about “Dr.” Martin Luther King? I ask only because i’m listening to E. Smith & P. Jones talk about Dr. King on Tim&Sid.
