It was day 2 of Bob bitching about the Crosby thing. Funny how he calls it ‘Crosbygate’ when he has previously stated how he hated how every scandal is a ‘gate’

What an odd hour of pts:

Collie on clockgate
Becker on super bowl prostitution
Nigel reed on egyptian riot

I agree with becker about on amount of prostitues trucked in for super bowl. I bwt you can get to 10,000 quickly when you start adding up all the midels/escorts/ porn stars at all the various above and below board parties. I bet, for example, a big party thrown by some rap star could have dozens if not 100+ professional women in attendance.

am i honestly being asked to pick sides in a Wilson/Cherry slap fight? ugh …

Laraque points out the Leafs’ tacit endorsement of the cruel practices of the coyote fur industry and Burke’s response is “i don’t agree with his views.” well that settles it … for a smart guy, Burke really comes across as a pretty dumb sometimes.

Rob Becker has to rate as one of the most useless guests. I still have nightmares about the time he came to Toronto and co-hosted with McCown for a few days.

Hmmm…I always enjoy listening to Becker.

Mike in Boston – I think it is as much Sun Media vs CBC as it is Burke/Wilson vs Cherry. Aside form a bit on Blair and Hayes, it seems the other media outlets have largely ignored it. Joe Warmington of the Sun was on with Hayes this week talking about the grief has taken from Burke contacting his management and attacking him directly. He is not a sports reporter, but for the rest it just appears that it is Burke being Burke.. Here is Simmons take

This new show on TSN looks very interesting. I always enjoyed Cooper with McCown. Monday through Friday may arguably be the domain of the FAN, but for me the weekends on TSN Radio are the only one worth listening to.

i’m a Becker fan too, though his quality as a guest is largely dependent on Bob’s level of preparation.

Cam – thanks for the Simmons link, that was a good read.

i grew to dislike Cooper when he was on the FOB roster, but i have not given him a fresh listen since he started appearing on TSN. this new show sounds exciting, as it will provide new voices on the big issues in sports. With the NHL CBA coming up, this is a good thing for listeners.

Yes, thanks for the link.
As long as Burke is in charge the Leafs will win squat. He’s a self centered egomaniac.
