Something wonderful is happening on the TV side at SN1 in ther mornings. No Brady & Lang!!
I hope that SN1 has stopped with this permanently. There is nothing worse than watching Greg Brady getting things wrong, and Lang blindly agreeing with him.
Now, hopefully, listeners will only have to hear them on the airwaves. (Just until they get replaced by Sid & Tim, or whomever)

Good for Ryder Hesjedal on winning the Giro d’Italia. Unfortunately the victory elicited a column from Brunt. The first sentence being:

“It’s funny how no matter what the locale, no matter what the game, in those rare, special moments, “O Canada” always sounds the same.”

Actually it’s not funny, or did he expect it to sound like Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” in Italy. It would be funny if “O Canada” didn’t sound the same, in those rare, special ……

“Rare, special” ? Why modify “moments” twice? Its already clichéd to use one adjective.

Brunt also uses “precious little” twice in the same column. Are there no editors at Rogers? Why “precious” is used to describe knowledge of a biker and a future bike race is anybody’s guess.

After all this, Brunt has the temerity to chastise an American commentator for -wait for it- using a cliché!

    Here is another paragraph:
“Then, the beauty shot, the anthem playing, and Hesjedal, with a big smear of lipstick on each cheek after being bussed by the lithe supermodel types who are a fixture at the finish of all Euro sporting events, getting teary-eyed, along with an audience back home that hardly knows him.”

    Hoo Boy.

I need the Hayes Show podcast to let Steph’s dulcet tones get this garbage out of my head.

I use my “Brady & Lang” mornings – sleeping in until I absolutely have to get up and then I go to the shower and get dressed and have my coffee and then by that time it is almost 9 AM and then I can start my day.

I can only take so much of Greg Brady talking about Justin Verlander, the Tigers, Red Wings and his time in Detroit for so much – living in Toronto and listening to a Toronto radio station.
