Another “overwrought” article today from Adrian Wojnarowski on Lebron. A welcome addition to a classic Deadspin piece:

Dirk Hayhurst tweeted today that he and Sam Cosentino are going to be hosting ‘Baseball Central’ 12-1 in July and August on the Fan 590.
That’s pretty neat, actually. Hayhurst is a pretty thoughtful guy. I haven’t read his books but they’re very highly regarded.
Hayhurst was fantastic on 590 morning show this morning. That’s a great signing for the Fan. I really enjoyed him this morning. Weirdly, I think both stations will do a good enough job on Euro 2012 coverage since it got brought up elsewhere. Given from the sounds of it, TSN took an absolute thrashing in the spring ratings, do they even contemplate a baseball show of their own during the daytime? Or make Hayes do all 4 hours solo when there’s going to be no hockey news for 6 or 7 weeks straight?
I’m sorry, I hear Scott Ferguson and I’m not terribly compelled when he’s on. The Jays may be the big story in the city in September if hockey doesn’t get going on time. Like the NBA, owners losing money must wonder what the rush is to sign a deal right away.
Colin Murray’s a hilarious host from the BBC or ITV on Brady’s show Fridays and I think if TSN can get Darren Anderton on a fair bit on radio, that’s a good thing for 1050. This city really embraces the two big international tournaments well and though I’ve lived here for 25 years, I think the downtown is such a fun place to be when these matches are on if you’re watching in a restaurant or pub with lots of fans.
If you hate soccer, fine, but you can’t acknowledge that love of the international tournaments far surpasses a lot of sporting events which used to be more popular and aren’t anymore.
Colin murray is on the bbc. He hosts match of the day 2 and a bunch of bbc radio shows, including fighting talk, which is sort of like Around the Horn. Thats the radio show brady is on every few weeks.
Blair had Cosentino on in the final 20 of his show today to talk about the new baseball at noon show. He made it sound like the show would run in September and October if they are “still in CBA season.” It make sense, it gives CJCL programming for the noon hour without displacing the reset of the lineup and if in fact hockey is locked out, it buys a few extra months of programming. Plus, it won’t be Wilner hosting like he did a summer or two ago, which I see as a plus.
If hockey is still locked out and baseball season ends, maybe we get Smith and Jones hosting ‘Hoops at Noon.
