Toronto Sports Media Sports Radio Lineups

By Rob Gregg

The Hockey Hall of Fame named its class of 2012 today. It has made for some good fodder on the radio this afternoon. Tuning in/out to the first hour of Prime Time Sports and Cybulski & Co. on TSN 1050, I’d suggest TSN did a better job in the initial coverage of this year’s class, having Steve Dryden & Pat Quinn on in the first hour, while PTS went to the phones for the obiligatory why isn’t “insert name here” in?

Here’s your drive home lineups

On Sportsnet 590 The FAN from 4-7pm, Prime Time Sports with

400 – Phones
500 – Ken Rosenthal, Fox Sports
520 – Kevin Cheveldayoff, Jets GM
600 – Pat Quinn, Hockey Hall of Fame committee member
620 – Mike Wilner, Sportsnet 590 The Fan baseball analyst
640 – Alex Anthopoulos, GM, Jays

On TSN Radio 1050 from 4-7pm, Cybulski & Co., with James Cybulski.

Steve Dryden
Pat Quinn
Dan Bylsma
Rich Griffin
Darren Dreger
Bob McKenzie

On TSN (5pm) & TSN2 (6:30pm), Off the Record with Michael Landsberg:

Pat Quinn, Hockey Hall of Fame Co-Chair
Dave Hodge, TSN Broadcaster
Noel Butler, TSN Soccer Analyst

Tonight on Sportsline:

What is the process for picking HHOF’ers and why were Brendan Shanahan & Pat Burns snubbed? Ricky Romero lashes out at a Sportsnet reporter for making fun of the Blue Jays injury situation on Twitter. Is soon to be free agent Steve Nash looking to go to the highest bidder and is the NHL destined to have a work stoppage in the fall? Join Hebsy & Bubbs tonight at 7, on CHCH!

I hope Raonic can make a big run at Wimbledon so that another subject other than hockey will appear on sports-radio in the middle of summer.

We are likely entering the “all jays all the time” phase of 590.

Alex, I’ll take it. I am so sick of hockey talk.

@Alex – two stations run heavy hockey talk from September to the beginning of July. A two month breather with more baseball talk sounds good to me.

….and it never ends. Now it’s HHOF talk. When is Norm Aubin getting in?

I don’t mind “Jays” talk and discussion but there are other teams in baseball besides Toronto. How many different ways can you have a discussion about the Jays thriftiness and “bright young talent with controllable contracts?”

After July 1 – then I go on a break of hockey talk till September.
