Today on Sportsline:

Will MLB consider Joe Girardi’s plea for expanded use of replay on the bases? The Washington Redskins are calling Robert Griffin III “Black Jesus”—is he?

I don’t usually listen to HC at noon, but it’s kind of funny hearing the poor guys struggle to find something to talk about everyday. Their frustration is pretty thinly veiled. I’d feel bad for them except I’m sure they’re getting paid the same.

If the lockout goes much longer, they should just let them talk all sports..

It just makes the decision to replace Baseball Central in early Sept all the more puzzling. Spending 2 months talking about nothing instead of the end-of-season run and playoffs? Really?

Totally agree. HC is bad enough on a good day, but when there’s NO hockey?

Its bad enough
hearing Cox and McCown have their usual gab-girl fest but I had to laugh when
Mccown who stated he had watched the entire skydiver event on Sunday ask “who’s
the bubba they had giving him directions? Did they grab him off the
street.”

Well, Bob that
“bubba” you call him is the guy that did pretty much the same thing 52 years
ago, you idiot. Its time McCown step down – he’s clearly lost his marbles.

I am not a baseball fan so I never listened to Baseball Central………….I enjoy Doug MacLean so I do listen to HC at noon, even during a lockout…………they wouldn’t have made the switch from baseball to hockey in September if they didn’t think their ratings would increase so I guess I am not alone

I wonder why the FAN wouldn’t just extend Tim & Sid’s program from 12 PM to 4 PM (during the NHL lockout) and then when the season squabbles are settled, then go back to Hockey Central at Noon?

Hayhurst tweeted that Baseball Central would have gone to the end of the season if the Jays were in it.

Yeah. It’s a truly weird choice to have a daily show about hockey when there is literally no hockey news.

I guess since they are paying them and doing the show is probably in their contract, they are doing the show.

1050 should prob counter program with non hockey , but we know thats not going to happen.

Ray Lewis was present when 2 men were murdered by members of his group, he hid and destroyed evidence, was convicted of 2 counts of obstruction of justice, and paid huge civil damages to the families of the two dead men. And after all this, his Wikipedia page says he is a “Christian and his commitment to his faith was featured in a Sports Illustrated cover story in 2006″…he helped cover-up the murder of 2 men, and this guy will be a first ballot “Hall of Fame” inductee.

So far the 590 noon hockey show has been more entertaining during this lockout than the 640 noon show was during the last lockout…………I seem to remember Marek & Watters talking about the WHA and the movie “Slap Shot” almost on a daily basis 8 years ago

the character redemption of Ray Lewis is a huge mystery to me. One wonders whether the media would be so enthused with him if he were a marginal player.
