So, what does making a stupid comment on a Rogers owned radio station cost you if you are the host? Apparently not that much.
Dean Molberg who suggested he’d like to see a plane crash was today suspended through the end of the CFL playoffs. The Grey Cup will be played on November 25th.
So apparently calling for a tragedy and hoping for the death of 4 players on a major corporations airwaves really isn’t all that big a deal is it?
Surprised?
I wonder if this makes the roundtable tomorrow.
I wonder if he’ll get a call from free speech champion Damian Goddard.
Is that suspension with or without pay? Losing two+ weeks salary is not small potatoes.
Do you actually believe that he wanted the plane to crash? Good grief – do you really believe that? If so, then all war metaphors, killing the opposition and the like, really need to go, because people clearly can’t distinguish between rhetoric and reality.
Yes, an apology sounds warranted, as does a suspension, but to actually believe that this was something more than a silly attempt at competitive rhetoric is plain ridiculous.
Sorry that I can’t jump on the bandwagon for this. Wake me when something really outrageous happens.
Sure Mike, but
Goddard didn’t wish for anyone to die in a plane crash. And of course Goddard
was fired whereas this dude was suspended. Outside of those two critical facts,
its a good comparison…..
I have to say DISQUS
sucks.
