On PTS today, Bob went after George Cope for getting rid of Burke. But what about Nadir Mohamed and Edward Rogers? Why did they agree now after apparently refusing to for the last 3 months? Bob didn’t say. I find it hard to believe were worn down or browbeaten by Cope. I’m assuming Nadir Mohamed didn’t get to run Rogers by being diffident. Bob also said that Bell did other things that made Rogers furious. Again there were no specifics. Were these things just hard nosed business decisions like Rogers hiring Pelley away from CTV? Did Bob disapprove of that because it made Bell furious, or is it only Rogers that can be tough in business deals in his eyes.

Bob and Damien then talked about how the Bell and Rogers cultures were different, and once again with no specifics. Hopefully Bob will flesh out these accusations with details (if there are any) in the future.

I just heard that TSN1050 will be doing the first Leaf radio game against Montreal. Another win for Cope. I wonder if the Jays games will be on 1050 this year since Cope apparently has magic powers to make Rogers bend to his will.

Well stated! Bob is
a coward – he’ll happily go after the Bell guys but would never have the stones
to criticize the Rogers’ suits.
Oh and also, will Cox
ever get over the fact his sugar daddy Burke was fired? I really doubt it.

Bob seems a lot more vocal in his disdain for TSN and or 1050 lately. I wonder if thats been motivated by anythin inparticular.

If you ask Rogers to something more than once they will eventually fold like a cheap suitcase:

just came here to post this.

Glad to see Cox get this exclusive after years of loyal service. He certainly took a lot of flack for his support of Burke.

But it’s usually tongue in cheek or contrived bluster over something trivial.

I’m at least glad that Cox doesn’t claim to know things he doesn’t, unlike McCown.

I guess. He regularly complained about the Jays not spending enough. He went off about Sportsnet One, about how over the top their hockey coverage is.

I dunno. I think he criticizes his employer far more than most do.

The last time i think seriously went after Rogers was in the wake of the Escobar suspension. As opposed to joking about Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Right. He sounded genuinely outraged by that.

I agree with Daniel……………I don’t think McCown has been all that soft on Rogers……………he has taken shots at them for Bills in Toronto, ownership of Jays (payroll, Escobar, Farrell), Sportsnet One, etc

@ Mike S – Yeah. I think if there’s one guy in the city you can’t criticize for not going after his bosses, it’s McCown.

Plus, the main thing to take away from the roundtable tonight seemed to be that McCown and Shannon think that Bell will buy out Rogers from MLSE within 3 years. Not exactly pro-Rogers.
