A BBC podcast with Colin Murray on moneyball and soccer:

Interesting segment, if not a little late (Moneyball being released a couple of years ago). As a Liverpool supporter, I found it interesting listening to Damien Comolli (now since sacked) about adopting moneyball principles at Liverpool. In fact, he did nothing of the like. The overriding principle of moneyball is value for money. Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson for 20 million pounds each is obviously not value for money. It’s insane, and it cost Comolli his job in the end.
