I keep hoping to tune into the HNIC coverage and NOT see P.J. Stock, how does this idiot have employment in any forum of media coverage? He can’t speak, and when he does strum a sentence together it makes ZERO sense. Weeks adds nothing for me either, Healy at least has opinions and doesn’t back off of them. Friedman is simply an info guy that any of us could do by simply using twitter or blogs.

Watching the opening of the Montreal-Buffalo game this afternoon, MacLean describes Montreal as the “Paris of Canada” the “New Orleans of the north”. Every damn time Montreal is on TV, he finds some ass kissing compliments about the city, the team, the players, the fans, the Bell Ctr, etc, etc…. It makes me sick how he does that all the time, but, never does that for Toronto, the New York, L.A. , Rome, London of North America. One of the the oldest, traditional, celebrated sports team of all time in any sport and Canada’s biggest, richest, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Montreal is a dump compared to T.O. and their team is no better than The Leafs, yet Montreal, Quebec, the french are always getting kissed up to bcuz nerds like MacLean are afraid to be normal, themselves. I could give a shit if Montreal’s won the most cups, they’ve done nothing in 20 yrs and were almost sold out of town in the 90’s!!! Quebec wants to seperate, they refuse to put up English signs on their roads to the same degree we put French signs here and everywhere else in Canada, they’re arrogant, want attention, want special privelages and still we have to have morons like MacLean sucking up to them. Makes me sick!!!!!! Can’t wait for him to leave one day.

@AFRAUDHATER……..u are so right! Stock is an absolute joke and wat makes it worse is that he’s so bias towards Montreal. Watch him when the other panel members speak, especially Healy, he has a look on his face like he knows more or the other guys know nothing of what they’re saying. Typical mtl fan, citizen. So insecure…..

Could’t agree more Mike. Gotta make ya think that TSN is more then laughing when they see the product on TV come any Saturday Night. TSN does a professional job with their rights and CBC looks completely lost.

Soon Bell & Rogers will let HNIC rest in peace but not soon enough to suit me!

I really think that Rogers will support CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada bid. Lots of CBC talent appear on The Fan590 and Bell/Rogers relationship is bound to implode still some point. Just my hunch.

Paris is a compliment. New Orleans is an insult.

If bob is right, and one of the alliance buys out the other, i could see the other being the one to get the expansion team in the GTA, perhaps even as written into the sale terms.

HNIC has been in serious need of a reboot for many years…the Maclean/Cherry show is now nothing more than a joke. I’ve never been a Maclean fan, but now I just find him overly smarmy and full of himself. Agree totally with others about PJ Stock…I believe he and Maclean share the same agent, which may explain a lot.
I’m sure the folks at TSN must have a good chuckle when they watch HNIC.

Mike….I feel ya man. Toronto is a dynamite city. Its for sure the Capital of Canada. Has all the best food, the best woman and our cups are more celebrated because the Leafs are historic and are the real blood of hockey in this country. Ron MacLean lives in Oakville, i think and he doesnt treat toronto with the same respect as he does as he does with Montreal. Paris of Canada..please more like the armpit of the Canada. Go Leafs Go! Man? Yup!

If Canada’ ever needed an enema..they would stick the hose right in the middle of Montreal, Quebec!
