In the 6pm hour, Naylor and Feschuk had a reasonable, sober discussion of the Kaetlyn Osmond controversy in the Globe and Mail.

What did they say about it? I actually am not sure why it’s a controversy. It’s not an unflattering picture, and in context it’s not an upskirt, it’s part of a figure skating routine, and that’s not her underwear, that’s her figure skating costume.

I’m more offended by the ridiculous amont of space that bloody figure skating gets in the Globe. Every day it was front and center in both the news section and sports section.

They said they didnt know why the globe apologized. No one complained andvthe skater herself had no problem with it.

I thought the problem originally was there was visible lady parts, but apparently not.

Canadians (and Americans) are always apologising and getting worked up about something “offensive” that would go totally unnoticed in most of Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

I’m more offended by the ridiculous amont of space that bloody figure skating gets in the Globe. Every day it was front and center in both the news section and sports section.

I seem to recall reading – perhaps back in the Zelkovich days? – that figure skating beats all sports including most regular (ie non-playoff non-Team Canada) hockey telecasts in the ratings.
