I was flipping through some old articles early this morning and came across these quotes:
“From our standpoint we’ve underachieved, We know we have a better team than this. Right now we want to see if we can spark this team.”
and
“The team just wasn’t doing what was expected of it, and maybe changes were needed. There was a lot expected this year, we came in riding high and speaking high. And that’s not the results we’re getting now.”
Any guesses who said them and when?
It was 1989…
I’m guessing Pat Gillick said it.
So bummed about the Reyes injury.
They say 1-3 months. That shouldn’t be impossible to overcome or anything if the pitching gets back to normal. It’s just that he is SO fun to watch. Ugh.
