400 – Phones for the full hour

I was going to turn it off but it was better than most call-in shows. I think this was because Eric Smith gave it a theme – Tortorella’s firing and the general issue of combative public figures who don’t speak in rehearsed soundbites – and a conversation got going with (for once) some half decent calls.

I laughed when one of the callers just before hanging up said something about Rogers having a problem with basketball as it was getting the short end on The Fan. Smith handled it well. Actually the reason I was going to turn it off initially – in addition to not liking call-in shows – was the thought that Smith would talk too much basketball.

(ANOTHER) ANDREW, I thought the same thing when I saw “400 – Phones for the full hour”, but skipped it. Sounds like I should go back to it. Thanks.
