Mackowycz and Cauz on location at the NHL combine:

Macko: “……I want to thank my mom and the higher power.”
Cauz: “Jesus?”
Macko: “The higher power.”
Cauz: “Oh, Crosby.”

That’s a real knee-slapper!

The TSN PR lackeys like Nan & Kamlesh have taken over here. Can’t be a popular development. It’s funny, though.

I agree with Julian…………..when someone says “Bob Mackowycz might be the most intelligent host on sports radio” I get a bit suspicious

May 31, 2013 3:59 pm

Or ‘comedy genious Matt Cauz’

Sounds like it will be Jeff Blair, Dave Perkins, John Shannon, and Arash Madani on the PTS roundtable today

TSN lackey? How many years was Brunt praised here before there was some push back. The truth is he knows nothing, which he proves whenever he opens his mouth. As for his books, compare any of them to Martin O’Malley’s “Gross Misconduct: The Life of Spinner Spencer”, or Bill Buford’s “Among the Thugs”, to see what pedestrian efforts they really are.

I don’t know if Mackowycz is the most intelligent, certainly even a cursory listen would prove his knowledge of sports, music, culture and politics is more varied and interesting that that of Francesa, Russo, Rome, Mike and Mike, Boomer, Sammut, Milard, Kipper, Richards, Hayes, etc. Has Dan Patrick ever had a view on music or politics that wasn’t banal. Yes, I know we listen to them for sports but when you are on 3 hours a day there will be opportunity to reflect on other things in the culture. I don’t expect them to be Leon Wieseltier, but It would be nice if those views were more thoughtful.

There’s like 10 people who comment here on a regular basis and it’s been more or less the same for several years. We all have our preferences.

I don’t think any of us qualify as PR lackeys.

Well, some people are more vociferous in their likes and dislikes than others, be it stations or personalities.

I dont think its bad that some people accentuate the positive rather than just be abusive in place of criticism.

Mike (in Boston) hit the nail on the head. The same 10 or so people giving their opinions. Pretty hard to find it interesting anymore because it’s all so predictable. Apologists here, iconoclasts there. In the end, it all adds up to a whole lot of “Who Cares”. A shame really. At one time, there was some interesting stuff here.

So true. There used to be some really interesting opinion and analysis of those who have opinions and analyses of others.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
