Jim Ralph today waa let go by the leafs. Hope he lands at SN, TSN or even CBC
I always like Ralph. Maybe he could replace Tatti on Leafs post-game with Jeff O’Neill. Not that Tatti’s that bad, but he is on all the time when you include his nights with Hogan and the golf show on Saturdays. I remember listening to Ralph on 640 when Hayes left. He was good and is as likeable as Stellick.
I see from his twitter account he is coping with his great sense of humour:
Jim Ralph @Jim_Ralph
Important thing for me now is to set an example for my kids in handling adversity luckily they are both of age to drink with me.
I guess I saw this coming when they stopped having Bowen and Ralph do between period stuff. They went to a group of motormouths who apparently get paid by the word; plus they are not entertaining. So I stopped listening. Now that Ralph had been taken off the broadcast team (most probably to be replaced by another uninteresting motormouth, I probably won’t listen to the radio broadcasts either.
I guess I’m in the minority. Ralph’s laboured drawl and blatant homerism was tiring. I won’t listen any more or less without him on the broadcast, but I’ll only miss him on the air for being able to point out his embarrassingly Leaf-friendly comments.
