James Cybulski to Sportsnet
Sid to James on Tim & Sid this afternoon:
“First question, James, how does it feel to be on a sports radio station that people actually listen to? “
Every game of the NBA Finals has been on 1050…………but right now they are airing an Argos pre-season game instead of Spurs-Heat Game 7……………interesting programming decision……………..I assume they will join the basketball game in progress after the Argos game is over but who knows
Awkward question to Cybulski. He was one of the major reasons TSNR got off to such a sluggish start.
nah, I think TSNR was one of the major reason TSNR got off to such a sluggish start.
“Every game of the NBA Finals has been on 1050…………but right now they are airing an Argos pre-season game instead of Spurs-Heat Game 7”
Things like this, among many others, are why TSNR will never succeed. They aren’t committed to doing SPORTS RADIO. They’re committed to keeping their corporate partners happy, and shoving their TV personalities down peoples throats.
Really, how many people in Toronto are thinking, “I’d much rather hear the call of an Argos pre-season game than that game 7 of an NBA Final?”
Wow, that is all I can say.
Every game of the NBA Finals has been on 1050…………but right now they are airing an Argos pre-season game instead of Spurs-Heat Game 7
I’m one of those people who thinks basketball gets too much Canadian media coverage based on its relatively small fan base but even I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after reading that. LOL. That is so small town I’m humming a John Cougar Mellencamp song.
Airing an Argos preseason game over game 7 of the NBA finals is madness. Who’s listening to an Argos preseason game? Family and friends?
Hearing James Cybulski making his announcement this afternoon with Tim And Sid to the New World Order was one of the most funnest segments I have experienced on sports radio in a very long time. Well done and congratulations.
yikes! not sure what Rogers is thinking here.
After the Argos game ended last night 1050 did switch to Spurs-Heat game 7………….but they missed most of the first quarter
The first Argos pre-season game was on the same night as Bruins-Hawks game 1 and 1050 aired the entire hockey game while the Argos game was on their website only
Intresting Mitch Melnick filling in for Dave Naylor next week. Will be intresting how he does
I had no idea Dave in Bolton. This is huge, although Melnick is not going anywhere, too entrenched in Montreal, plus Naylor seems to be the real deal, as long as he has a strong supporting cast to bring out the best in him, since he is such a knowledgeable, but low-key guy.
To have Melnick cover when Naylor is away is awesome, and I will be listening, especially if Brunt is off, as he is due to take his Summer off. Regardless, I would still listen to Melnick to check him out from here.
Let’s face it everyone TSN Radio since day one has been a 2 year infomercial for their TV product. If anyone really thinks that is going to change…well I really have no words.
Are you sure Melnick is filling in for Naylor on 1050 next week?……………Melnick’s twitter account says that he will be filling in for Naylor the week of July 22
In any event, Melnick is fun to listen to so it will be interesting to hear him on 1050
Yea its the 22nd got dates mixed up
I wonder if they’ll just be simulcasting his Montreal show.
It would be pretty funny if they just were “Yeah, we’ll give you the Montreal guy and Montreal interviews for a week”.
Off topic but holy cow in the last year or so there has been “no there there” with Brunt 99% of the time. Except for that time that the Globe Business section wrote an article shit-talking him (I can’t remember the specifics).
Sounds like the PTS rountable today is another all-Rogers affair…………..Stellick, Brunt, Shannon, and Micallef

Sounds interesting. Do you remember anything more about it or when it happened?
